Gothenburg Culture Festival is over and the booking is closed!
Welcome to a lunch talk with sanctuary artists Ahmad Azzam and Ghirmay Yohannes. Ahmad Azzam is Palestinian with a background in sociology, journalism, literary writing and media production. Now he is finishing his first novel and producing a short film. Ghirmay Yohannes is a journalist, writer, poet and filmmaker from Eritrea. Among other things, Ghirmay has published "The Missing Dreams", which is a book of poetry in Tigrinya. Ann Ighe, editor of the magazine Ord & Bild, is the conversation leader.
Gothenburg, in collaboration with the international organization ICORN, was the first sanctuary city in Sweden. The purpose of a sanctuary is to safeguard freedom of expression by giving a persecuted cultural worker the opportunity to practice his or hers profession in a safe and secure environment.
The lunch talk will be held in English.
